Pega‑Flor is inspired by the mechanism of the finger trap, in which force intensifies the impasse while calm releases it. The gesture invites pause, attentive listening, and patience in the face of tension. A similar object, known as the ‘pega‑moça’ or ‘indigenous ring,’ can be found in certain contexts among Indigenous peoples of the Amazon, symbolizing an inseparable union in wedding rituals. It is in the lightness of the woven palm that the strength of union and balance is found—both physical and metaphorical.
